Toffee Bars were always on the Holiday Platter. A salty, dense cookie base that was enrobed with Bakers German Sweet Chocolate Bars and then sprinkled with Salty pecans menu.

I mainly have one bowl of brownies, toffee bars, and probably the German Chocolate Cake on the Cover, though I have never personally tried to make one.
Ingredients Toffee Bars:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 beaten egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour
- 2 4 oz bars of German Sweet Chocolate
- 1 1/2 cups chopped Pecans
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add well-beaten egg and vanilla and mix well. Add brown sugar, salt, and mix well. Spread batter in a shallow pan about 10×15 inches. Press batter into pan with your fingertips and bake at 350 degree for 20 minutes.
- Melt the German chocolate and spread over the bars while warm
- Sprinkle with the nuts.
- Let the bars set a bit until the chocolate looks hard but not all the way cool and cut into 2 x 2 inch bars.
